Best Things to do: Away from the stunning beaches, Phuket offers some exciting cultural attractions to immerse in. There’s the Phuket Thai Hua Museum or the weekend market, perfect for second-hand items. Not to be outdone is the Phuket Indy Night Market, a lively experience with delicious food stalls to try. For a viewpoint head to Monkey Hill, you’ll be among the nature and macaques up here. Finally, the Jui Tui Shrine gives you an insight into a large Chinese temple.
When to visit: if beach life is your ideal holiday, then you’ll want to head to Phuket between November and February. The days during this period are mostly sunny and dry. The wet season runs from May to October when the humidity rises and the rainfall arrives!
Getting to the smaller islands: With the stunning islands and their secluded beaches close by you’ll need to take a boat to reach them. Boats can be hired for trips to these islands and fishing sites. Head to Chalong Pier and Rawai to catch them.
